The latest from Robyn and Dave in Vietnam   (Outlook)
Just an update on our trip. Just back from giving out FIFTY PIGS. What an experience. Each was in a bamboo cage the same size (almost) as the pig. The families were so excited they got there 1 hour beforehand. Lots of photo opportunities. Had to go to a local restroom. A cultural experience!
We are going to see The Father's House this afternoon where unwed mothers wait for the birth of their babies and learn mothering skills. The boys are going somewhere else. Maybe on a Prayer Walk around the city.
Tomorrow we give out scholarships at a number of schools. Will be lots of speeches and formal stuff but good interaction with the children. Thursday is our last day. We visit an Ethnic Community Thurs morning and then fly out to Saigon in the afternoon and leave the team. What a wonderful time we have had here.
Deb and Paul Hilton had a car accident yesterday - their first in 10 yrs yesterday. Not their fault. Also the computer server had a fire. Someone doesn't like us being here! Appreciate your continued prayers.
Love and blessings, Robyn and David

Minutes of church meeting 3 August 2008   (Leadership Community)
The minutes from the recent church meeting are attached. If you were present, and your name does not appear, please let Jenny
Armstrong know (jarmstrong@brindabellabaptist.org.au). Note also that a PowerPoint slide with the latest version of the structure is
referred to as ‘attached’ (because it was way too hard to transfer component by component into a Word document!!!) – this is true of
the hard copy in the church archive, but not of the electronic copy on the website – please follow the link to the structure website from
the main website if you want to see the slide.

Thanks again to those who agreed to nomination for the Senior Pastor Search and Constitution Review teams! Please keep these teams in your prayers as they seek God’s will for a new pastor and structural framework for Brindabella.

Issues Forum notes - new church structure   (General)
The attachment contains the notes from the issues forum held on Wednesday night. It would be very helpful for you to read them, and also to check the latest information on the structure website (myearthjourney.com/leadership) before the church meeting this Sunday (note that the diagram has had some amendments since first circulated last week, and that other information has been added to the website). You can add questions to the forum website.

This is also a (gentle but direct!) reminder that nominations for the Senior Pastor Search team need to be emailed to jarmstrong@brindabellabaptist.org.au by this evening at the latest, so that ballot papers can be prepared for Sunday's meeting. So far we have two names, and we are hoping for a team of 5. Please follow up with anyone you have asked to consider nomination today! We also want to hear from volunteers for the Constitution Review Team (we have 2 names for that also, but will not require a ballot for that team).

Finally, please continue to support this whole process in prayer!

Latest from the Malones - No. 15   (Outlook)
Dear friends at BBC,
Greetings from hot Thailand - our first hot season here! The August prayer and news letter is out a few days early because we are going to Perth on Friday 1 August to apply for our next 1-year visa. We will be back in Thailand (God willing!) on 13 August. This trip is the ONLY option currently available to us to enable us to minister another year in this country. We are still praying towards more longer-term satisfactory options that will mean we won't have to make a short trip back to Australia every year, as we can't cover this in our budget.

Please read the attached letter as it has several new photos of our new living location and up-to-date prayer needs. Causing most anxiety at this time is the visa application - nothing is guaranteed until we see an approval in writing in our passports. We believe the Thai Consulate is only open 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday), which means we put our application in on Tuesday 5th August and need to get it back approved on Thursday 7th August because the following Tuesday (12th) is a Thai public holiday. By any accounts we are praying for speedy service from the Consulate and approval of our visa application. If you pray for nothing else this month, please pray for this one as we surrender this into the Lord's control. Apart from a few days relaxation, we are also doing a number of speaking / mobilising engagements in Perth - please pray for responsiveness from people to the needs at hand. Otherwise, the rest of the news and prayer needs are in the attached letter.

Thank you for your prayer covering for us and your joining in the work of God with the Central Thai people group.
In the clutches of the cross,
Phil (for Jen and the whole Malone clan) :-)

Events checklist   (General)
If you are planning to hold an event - large or small - at Brindabella, you will find the attachment a useful tool in preparation. We've put together an Events Checklist as well as a communications guide called Say It Out loud, which will give you prompts and clues on how to organise your event. Events Packs are available at the Information table and the checklist is posted here on the web. Vanessa Luke is able to help you understand how to best organise finances for your event as well. Your first consideration will always be a date for your event. When you book this through ConneXion, please chat with Ruth about your event. We recommend that you book a time to sit down with Ruth and work through the checklist one item at a time, to ensure you are covering everything required and know how to go about finding what you need.
