Moments that Matter - Family Moments

It’s time once again to get away on another scrapbooking escape weekend - this time take a look at who makes up your unique family. After all, there is no other family quite like yours.  Enjoy recording your family memories, events, moments and traditions; even create a family tree page. It is a time to reminisce, laugh, swell with pride and perhaps even cry.

These weekends are all about having a great scrapbooking time, learning new techniques, joining with other scrapbooking friends new and old and having time to settle back in your own space.

There will be time for heaps of scrapbooking (stay up all night if you wish) without putting everything away, lots of fun, sharing, learning and probably not much sleeping! Enjoy getting away on a Moments that Matter scrapbooking weekend.

After the popularity of the previous weekend escapes, don’t leave it too late to register as our weekends are usually sold out! We are confident that you will enjoy Moments that Matter – Moments Away!

Theme - Family Moments

Our families shape so much of our lives. It is a great opportunity to look at those who have gone before us and those that have come after us. There are opportunities to join in three special workshops which take these aspects of our families and involve you in how you can create special pages to celebrate their lives. The memories of our families is something special that we can pass on to future generations. Take the time now to ensure that you record the moments, the adventures, the history and much more about your family.

You will not be disappointed as you scrap away from Friday night to Sunday afternoon, discover new techniques and ideas from creative presenters, and be inspired by those friendly participants around you. There is no time like the present to record those precious memories.

Workshops, Presenters and Demonstrations

There are some great workshops and sessions on offer for the Family Moments weekend.  Our presenters will include local scrapbookers, complemented by a visit from Queenslander Lin Smith.  Workshop examples are drawn from experienced scrapbookers with a variety styles. Weekend Details

*When full weekend tickets are purchased before Friday 26 September 2008 the Early Bird price will apply (not including twinshare). The first 10 weekend participants to register will also receive an extra bonus gift in their registration pack on arrival.

**Twinshare is sharing with 1 other person rather than up to 3 others. Each nominated person needs to pay the twin share rate. Twinshare rooms are limited.

Purchase of Tickets and Registration

Tickets can be purchased by printing the registration form/info sheet below and by posting a cheque, paying cash in person or electronic funds transfer. Pick one that most suits you (specific details listed below). Tickets will be available for purchase up until Friday 17 October 2008 unless sold out prior to this date.

Accomodation

Greenhills Conference Centre is set out in a tranquil location off the Cotter Road. It is about a 10 minute drive from Canberra.

Accomodation is available in 2 (twinshare price applies), and 4 person rooms. If you wish to share a room with particular people please nominate your preference on the registration form. Where possible all needs will be accomodated. However, those who register early will be given preference.

Other details

There will be opportunities to share your own ideas as well as learn from others.

Places are limited, and tickets are available for the whole weekend or day visits on the Saturday. Registration forms are available above.

This is a non-profit weekend. Any remaining funds from the sale of tickets will help purchase resources for participants to use at future events. Also, we like to support a charity on each occasion. See next column near the top for this weekend's charities.

Why have scrapbooking weekends?

Cathy and the team of organisers of Moments that Matter events just love scrapbooking. They would love other people to join them in enjoying this wonderfully creative craft. What better way than to organise weekend events.

These events are non-profit. Any remaining funds left over from the weekends goes towards purchasing equipment and resources for future weekends that can be used by participants. Also, a charity is selected to receive a donation as a result of the weekend.

Charity

Karinya House is a Canberra organisation which provides caring practical, individual assistance for pregnant women who are without appropriate accommodation and support.  Along with ante and post natal support, they provide training and skills in areas such as parenting, counselling, nutrition, and budgeting so that they can create a family setting for themselves and their new child.
